Waterskiing
At the entrance to Zelena Laguna, cca. 5km from our home you will find the only ski-lift in Istria; waterskiing with a cableway is therefore a unique attraction. With a length of 700 metres Poreč’s sea cableway has seven speeds and as such can be modified for beginners and more experienced and capable recreational waterskiiers who are old hands at sea skiing alike.
Fishing
The Adriatic Sea is a paradise for both diving lovers and those who love fishing. If you want to engage in sport fishing during your holiday in Istria, you will need a license.
Freshwater fishing
In Istria, apart from sea fishing, you can also try out the freshwater fishing. You can fish in the ponds at Cerovlje and it is possible to go eels hunting in the river Mirna (cca. 35km from our house).
You can fish carps, chubs, barbels, pikes and grass carps.

Sailing
Poreč has two active sailing clubs, JK Horizont and JK Poreč which organise sailing schools for beginners as a first step to setting sail on the open sea.
Nightlife
Fun in Poreč is available at every step. During summer nights the music of top international hits and dance rhythms will follow you from numerous clubs, night bars and cafes, while those who want to try their luck can do so at the enchanting atmosphere of Poreč’s casinos.
An unforgettable, all-night experience can be found at the largest night club in the region, the Byblos Discotheque. Byblos has already hosted all eminent electronic musicians: David Guetta, Erick Morillo, Umek, Sander Kleinenberg, Sharam, Axwell, Paul Oakenfold, David Morales…
Jet – Ski
Poreč's Peškera Cove, protected on all sides from sudden gusts of wind, has hosted the best Croatian and International jetters as they achieved unbelievable speeds with their water scooters.
If you want to try your hand at riding one, jet ski scooters are available for rent.
Biking
FROM THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH, from the eastern to the western Istrian coast, on nearly 2,600 kilometres spread the already plotted sixty bike trails. Istria County Tourist Board has published so far six brochures entitled “Istria Bike” with trails plotted in detail and descriptions of mostly circular tracks stretching on 1,500 marked kilometres. Other bike trails, yet to be plotted, have covered all Istria like a spider web.
Diving
We invite you to embark upon an adventure that will reveal all the underwater beauty of the Istrian peninsula – the abundance and diversity of its well-preserved plant and animal life, as well as its multitude of underwater walls and reefs, caves and shipwrecks.

Wine and olive oil routes
Among the numerous varieties found in this area, the most important is the Istrian white Malvazija. It is found thoughout Istria, making it therefore an inseparable part of this region’s identity. The wine has a pale gold colour, pleasing aroma of locust tree blossom, with a harmonious, delicate freshness and needed structure. Teran is typical of Istria just as well, a wine with an colour ranging from purple to ruby-red, of lively fruit aroma, pronouncedly fresh and less structured. They are followed by red Burgundy, red Hrvatica, and a few varieties that are less famous.
A number of world-known high-quality varieties are also cultivated here like white Pinot, Chardonnay, grey Pinot, red Merlot, Refošk and Cabernet Sauvignon. A special attraction for those fond of good wine are also two muscat varieties of special aroma: Momjan Muscat and Poreč Muscat rose.
Throughout the past centuries Istria has been determined by the olive-tree. We owe the first historic manuscripts related to our peninsula and dating back to ancient Greeks and Romans to this very olive-tree and to olive-oil, respectively.
Riding
Nature and adventure enthusiasts will certainly passionately ride and discover the beauties of natural and historical monuments of this unique Mediterranean pearl.

Karting
The Poreč Motordrome, located only a few kilometres from the city centre, is the ideal place where all those who love speed, excitement and good fun will satisfy all their craving for adrenaline. Poreč’s karting track is 600 m long and 7 m wide and was constructed in 1999.
For its youngest visitors, Poreč’s karting offers a specially designed track where children can safely drive in Bambini carts.
Trekking
Istria is famous for its rich and diverse tourist offer, so for hiking lovers it provides many opportunities of the most beautiful trails.
When this healthy activity joins with the pleasures offered by the natural, cultural and historical beauties, then the experience is complete. During walking from one side you have a look at the endless blue sky, the other at the bell towers of the Istrian medieval towns which are situated at the inland of Istria.
Hiking trail Parenzana - The Route of Health and Friendship
The new sports and recreational trail that offers magical and breathtaking views of Istria, has a reconstructed section of the historic railway that connected Poreč and Trieste. The Istrian section of Parenzana is winding through wonderful valleys, over green hills, through vineyards and along olive groves all the way to medieval towns. The entire trail is marked with characteristic yellow signposts providing information on historical viaducts, tunnels and railway stations that you will discover on this challenging journey.
Excursions
The program of excursions from Poreč is extremely rich and diverse and includes excursions on the sea and to the Istrian hinterland. For example, you can take a small boat to the Lim Canal, Rovinj, Brijuni National Park, or you can go on an organised boating, fishing and 'pirate' picnic. Hydrofoils and fast boats take excursionists to Venice, Trieste and Pula. Travel agencies also organise excursions to the renowned natural attraction, the Plitvica Lakes National Park.
Excursions to Istrian cities and towns in the hinterland are a must and include visits to Motovun, Hum, Grožnjan, Oprtalj, Momjan, Vižinadu, Višnjan, Beram, Sv. Lovreč, Pazin, Savičentu, Barban… You can also cool off with an excursion to the karst Baredine Cave near Nova Vas.
You can also research specific Istrian wines should you take off on one of Istria's wine roads. No matter which way you turn on your short trips, the view will include numerous olive groves which can take you along olive oil roads. On these roads you can taste various olive oils that liquid gold that represents a true abundance of health.
Hunting
The low landscape with rolling hills, characteristic for the area around Poreč, is rich in mostly small and feathered game including quails, woodcocks, pheasants and hares but also ducks, deer and boars. On hunting reserves for small game, hunting is possible from summer until the end of winter. Organised hunting parties can hunt at a hunting reserve in the Mirna River Valley, ten kilometres north of Poreč.
Golf
Molindrio Driving Range, Poreč
The driving range is located in the beautiful Molindrio bay near Poreč, at the entrance to Zelena Laguna, cca. 5km from our house.
In a perfect golfing ambience you'll find an attractive long game driving range marked with flagsticks, baskets and length marks, a 120 m2 pitching green for practicing short game and a 300 m2 putting green with 18 flagsticks.
There is a possibility of hiring equipment and attending golf school which will provide you with a license to play.
